For the third time in just six years, the Flower Mound location of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has officially been named the best place to work in healthcare, and according to the hospital’s president, the reason for that is the building’s employees doing their part to make the overall work environment better.
The hospital, which opened about six years ago, had been previously ranked in at number one by Modern Healthcare magazine in 2013 and 2016. The magazine routinely comprises lists of the best places to work in the field of healthcare every year.
The hospital also received Modern Healthcare’s “Healthiest Award” for providers, as they generally offer various types of employee discounts on things such as fitness trackers and gym memberships. Additionally, they also offer a walking path that’s two miles long and on-site yoga classes.
The hospital is also known to have an extremely high retention rate as well, which is upward of 95% within the past five years. The hospital’s president credits this to the employees who love their jobs, as well as the work culture itself. In fact, the hospital has grown greatly ever since it first opened, as they have gone from approximately 250 employees to nearly 750. Additionally, a lower turnover rate is seen as being beneficial to the overall care of patients, as well as the ability to expand in both services and size.
The president also stated that the hospital is seeing a lot of growth everywhere, and that growth helps to create new services and people, which is what makes hiring so important. He further stated that it begins with hiring the right employee, which is something that they always put a great deal of effort into.
